Combining and Swathing
New for this year we have purchased a John Deere 9680 WTS combine. This is the largest straw walker combine John Deere make, allowing high output whilst still leaving the straw in good condition for baling
The combine is complete with Auto steer, as this picture shows allowing a full header width to be cut at all times helping to improve output further. It is also fitted with Harvest Smart which means the combine will set its own forward speed according to the loss monitor. Helping to improve losses and again increase output.
We also have a draper header for the combine to allow us to pick up swathed oil seed rape.
Below is an example yield map taken from one of our own wheat fields. The information can be shown in many formats. In the example below we have used the information to highlight areas of poor and good yeild. Identifying the poor yielding areas allows us to try to rectify the problem causing the low yield, increasing the overall average yield in subsequent years.
Swathing is another service we offer, we run 2 swathers, 1 14 foot cut and 1 16 foot.
